So I'm heading back to the bay area (more specifically Fremont) for the summer and I want to find some research/internship in the bio field. Does anyone have suggestions as to where to look for this stuff? Is there an actual SRP office somewhere on campus that would have people to help me find something?

The problem is that I'm only a freshman (right now) and I don't have any research experience, so I think that's a big turnoff for any professors... but then if I never get started, I'll never have anything to put on my resume as reference.

I think it's kinda late to be applying for summer research. Most programs have deadlines between mid-Feb. to mid-March. However, there might still be some open applications. You're going to have to look for yourself, I'm in engineering so I don't know where you should start looking. From what I've seen most industry summer positions are available to junior/senior students, so you'll have a hard time finding something.

You should take a look at the Career Center Website, and look at posted bulletins in your department building.

Don't worry too much about getting research now. You're still just a freshmen after all.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info! I actually started looking around January but then gave up after awhile and just now asking for help... bad idea, i now realize. anyway, i just feel like i need to keep busy this summer and preferably doing something that will help me in my career.

yes there is an actual SRP office.

A334 Murphy... i was there this morning lol.
