Research internship

In late January I contacted the Dean of Science at my local university to ask about an opportunity for a research internship. She said she'd like to meet me to further discuss this at my convenience & unfortunately I wasn't able to respond to her until last week (lots of convincing to do with my parents & I've just been busy with other stuff too). So I replied to her saying that I could meet her on Tuesday... no response. So emailed her again & still no response.

I know this sounds really, really, REALLY dumb but I'm freaking out. Maybe she thinks I'm not really interested & isn't responding because of that. Then again, she's the dean so she's probably busy. Is there any way that I can speed up this process? I'm so worried... is she ignoring me? D:

It took you a while to write her back, so she might have moved on or thought you weren’t interested. I’d say wait a few more days, but if she hasn’t replied already to your two emails, I would assume that the opportunity has passed. Usually even busy people have time to read their emails every day, so I’m really sorry if that’s the case. :frowning:

I don’t think it’s worth emailing her a third time though; since she wrote to you in late January and you got back to her a month late, ultimately it is your fault…I would have recommended emailing her back right then and saying that you would have to check with your parents but were interested. I’m not sure what the best path would be from here (hope others can give you better advice), but I hope things work out, so good luck!

=( That sucks. I think I can still check with other professors, though…
And I did email her back saying I would have to check with my parents and that I probably wouldn’t be able to meet her soon…
I don’t know what to do, maybe I’ll try again on the weekend. =(
Thanks, though.
