I just stumbled across the term “research nurse.” What does a research nurse do? What would you want to major in to become a research nurse?
I don’t know. Most nurses don’t officially specialize as an undergrad. However, you could use your electives to make your own specialty, such as taking courses that would qualify you for certain types of research…
A Nurse Researcher I believe, is considered a scientist. They focus on finding ways to improve healthcare. They conduct experiments, analyze results, etc just like what a normal scietist would do. The career is very promising, with a 20% growth rate (I may be a bit off). You’ll make great money, but you’ll be in school for a good 8 years minimum.
Nursing. BSN at least to start. If you want to do cancer research (like I did) you go do oncology and get involved in patient clinical trials then you move up from there.
