Research Opportunities like the Schmahl Science Research Program in San Jose?

Hey guys, so I’m a high school student in Northern VA and I’m really trying to get involved in some research for summer 2018. I’m extremely interested in medicine and want to get into some research in that field, but I’ll take whatever’s available honestly.
Anyways, I’m not sure how to really get involved in some research. I know I can email cc profs and other things, but this Schmahl Science Research Program basically guides you through the process of doing some individual research.

Did you end up finding an answer? There are also online research programs available if you can’t find one in your area.

Well, I have a mentor at my school who is helping me with a project of mine, but I would really appreciate online research programs if you have them.

@Chocolate-Taco Do you know of any good online research programs? Specifically in the field of bio/biochem/medicine if possible but anything is great.

@Hakhan wdym by online research? From what I understand bio/med research is mostly wet lab
