Research opportunity?

I am looking for universities with attached biology institute so that I can get research opportunities while in undergraduate. Can anyone recommend me some? All comments would be highly appreciated.

I doubt if an institute is required to find research opportunities. If you post your stats, we could direct you to schools where you might find these opportunities.

The Boston area contains the bigest Biotech Hub in the world. On top of the research going on in all the universities, hospitals and company labs a number of the universities have special summer research programs for undergraduates funded by the National Science Foundation.

Tufts has 2 programs and Brandeis, BC, BU, Northeastern and UMass Boston each have 1 . Anybody can apply for any of the programs nationwide, but logistically it is a little easier for it to be local. Acceptance can be competitive. Students at Liberal Arts Colleges typically use these programs to get research experience.

Here is a nationwide list:

Most Liberal Arts colleges encourage undergrad involvement and many universities too. Go to every event that the bio department offers like lunch time speakers, poster presentations, Ask questions to the other students and profs about what they have been working on. Let them know you are looking for opportunities and get advice.

I did not click on the link above but I believe the NSF opportunities require a student to be a citizen or green card holder. Just a heads up if you are international.

There are plenty of additional summer research options outside of the NSF.
