Can you do research outside of your major/department at umich? Like can an aerospace major do research that’s listed on the climate and space sciences and engineering website? I tried looking through their website but couldn’t find anything. Thanks.
This is usually not university specific - you can do research with professors in other majors as long as your major is somewhat related/relevant to their field. Aerospace engineering would certainly be relevant to climate and space sciences. The way you’d do this is through approaching a professor in the department who is doing research you’re interested in. Some labs are large enough that they have a semi-formal application process; Michigan is more likely to have that given its size and stature, but it may vary by lab.
Yes!! You can definitely do research outside of your major. There are opportunities through UROP and by emailing professors and expressing interest.
