Research Science Institute 2006

Or a Christian =)

guys, it's such a relief to come back and see that the attitudes here have done a complete 180 (after a bit of flaming, granted). thank you to rickoids for being such wonderful people. :)

How did this get to page 2!

WOOHOO! I'm mad stoked right now. I definitely got a math question wrong on the PSAT, so I prolly got 76 or 77, but I took the SAT today and I'm like 99% sure of all my math answers (since I checked each one 3-5 times). Yayyyyyy!

What types of projects do you get at RSI? I am applying, but I am also working on ISEF research at a local university. If I want to have a shot at STS, Siemens, etc I need the summer to work on my project. Can you continue your own research at RSI? Should I indicate this on my app? I think Jamie Rubin had started her STS project before RSI- did she work on it there, too? Thank you.

It seems like everyone appears to be asking about what to do in order to get into RSI which doesnt seem too interesting so why dont the alumnis just tell us what NOT to do is we want to get in?

Shoot a man.

Hahahahaha.

thats great. i love how the first answer to my question is ^. It's quite informative though; ill try to keep that in mind.

You can't NOT be a nerrrrrrrrd! Just kidding Rickoids, we TASPers love you too! On that note, we need to start some sort of inter-program competition, since the programs run at exactly the same time

Actually, you can shoot a man and still get in. Nowhere on the app does it ask you if you have been convicted of a crime. Jason, I'm surprised you said that since you were the one who pointed this out to me :)

you wanna vs. us in ultimate? we'll rock you like we did promys

Unpossible, TASP ultimate is godly; we have experience in all weather conditions and all (lack of) lighting conditions too. I bet rickoids never almost got killed by lightning whilst playing ultimate!

There is no way TASP could beat RSI. RSI is only a eugenics/ultimate training camp. Research is just a facade.

Do a lot of alumni participate in later TASP years?

All factota (counselors) are either TASP alumni or Telluride house members/alumni. TA is a bit more decentralized, so the culture's different. And the eugenics thing isn't really encouraged by TA, though tales of wild TASP parties in the past (seriously) have filtered through. The first rule they tell you is "No sex!"

Do any of you guys know Vivek? I do?

Are there any other cool summer programs like RSI? I've heard of SSP...

There are tons of decent summer programs. Just do a search on Google or even this forum and you will find a lot more responses that way because sometimes, really, people get bored of addressing the same topic.

Yeah vivekv is permastaff at rsi and an ultiamte fanatic.

Are TASP alumni insane at ultimate too?

Hmm. You make a good point, Vin.

Then again, if you're in prison, it won't be easy to get into RSI.
