anyone know the code i can put to send them my latest SAT scores?

Klebian, RSI doesn't have a school code. Although you probably don't need to send your scores, you could try emailing Cliff and see what he says.

So..anyone from California here? So Cal?

current sophomores cannot apply to RSI, right?
i know the deadline for applications was days ago, i just wanted to console myself :)

Yup, Californian here. wish i was in nebraska right now, though. ;)

Note to everyone: Sorry I didn't get to respond to you guys' questions since Dec.. I was loaded with college applications, financial aid, scholarships, algebra, analysis, and AP English. Sorry, hopefully you guys got everything you needed figured out.

@emrekaya: yep, RSI is for those who have finished their junior year

...One of my best friend at RSI was from Nebraska...

Does anyone know under what conditions RSI gives students their #2 choice of field/subfield?

I'm pretty sure (but don't quote me on it) that RSI tries its hardest to match you with your #1 choice once you're accepted.

After I was accepted to RSI, they tried (valiantly, I suppose) to match me with neuroscience stuff (1st choice), but the one project they asked me if I wanted to do was too behavioral, so I asked them if I could do a different project. (I'm pretty sure they only email you if the project they found doesn't match your choices completely.) By the time RSI started, however, they had found a different neuroscience project for me, which was a departure from my original research ideas and previous research experience but still very interesting. :)

thank-you, mutedglory. If you and/or any other rickoid could give me a chances post, i'd really appreciate it. my info is on page 43 of this thread. in addition to that info, i'd like to add that I did not report an AIME score and never qualified for USAMO. Also the 2 internships were in different fields (one in particle physics, one in neuroscience), and my #1 choice was math, topology #2 bio, neuroscience. again, a chances post would be highly appreciated but if it is inconvenient, no problem. :)

What are people doing this summer if they don't get into RSI?

For me,
1. other summer program
2. research at local university

am i supposed to receive some verification that rsi actually received my application? since one of my science teachers waited until the last minute to write the rec, he said he'd overnight it... so i'm kind of on the edge on whether or not it actually got there on time lol

ahhhhhh***. i cannot wait until march 31st!

I applied and included the stamped postcard, but haven't gotten it back yet.

Has anybody gotten theirs yet?!?

tjones im also from so cal. were you thinking of cosmos as the alternative?

I have not gotten my card back. o_O

^yea, I'm applying to COSMOS, though I've already been to it before. It's really fun. not that legit though. u get lotsssssss of free time. wut school you from ? pm me?

got mine back about a week ago

^you sent them a blank postcard or something?
I didn't, so I'm just gonna hope that nothing goes wrong and they receive it safely..

eh...I haven't gotten my postcard back yet. I hope they received everything on time/safely...

@tomjones: yeah, basically, just sent them a postcard
