Are alot of the Bio/Chem professors researching? Can freshman/sophmore work in their labs?

Hey AwkwardBear2016,

As far as I know, there are a number of professors in the science department who are researching. I personally know a freshman biochemistry major who was able to do research with a Loyola professor the summer before her freshman year! There are definitely opportunities in several different fields if that is something you’re interested in. For example, a group of students in our Physics Department, including freshmen, are heading to NASA this summer to work in their facilities. Also, several of our biology students presented research at our 22nd Annual Biology Research Symposium last week. Here is a link to more research projects our bio students did over the summer: [Biology Students Have A Busy Summer Conducting Research | College Of Humanities + Natural Sciences | Loyola University New Orleans](http://chn.loyno.edu/biology/success/biology-students-have-busy-summer-conducting-research)

Hope this helps!
