Reserch/Internships

How would you show colleges what research/internships you’ve done?
Do you explain them in the essays? what if they’re not on topic?
or do you just put them in summer activity list w/o explaining them?

someone.....?

Place them on your EC list. If it was one of the most important things you did, not only put it on your list, but talk about it in your essay if it reflects you as a person.

Also, you should be able to be co-author, or even first author in a publication. At the very least you should also be acknowledged in published research. Sorry, but there's no hope in your being last author.

If you're not in any publications whatsoever, then I seriously think that your supervisor is using you for slave labor... sorry!

Let me clarify this.

On a scientific publication, you have a list of authors who all had major contributions to the publication.

The first author is the person who did most of the work, and usually the person who wrote the article. The second, third, fourth, etc. authors also put in a lot of work, at least enough to have their name down as a co-author (which is still a lot of work)

I say that you have no hope of being last author, because the last author is the head of the project, and more often than not, the head of the lab or the program, and interns do not have that position.
