<p>Does being a permanent resident lower your chances of being accepted? I've looked at several schools' admission stats and for most of the them the majority of incoming students were U.S. citizens and not permanent residents (then again this might be because there are more citizens than residents but still). Is this something they take into consideration when they review your app? Thanks.</p>
<p>No. Of course it’s because there are more citizens who apply rather than perm residents. For colleges, both are treated equally – there’s no difference to them so there’s no incentive to give either a preference</p>
