Residential college mailing address

To current students,
If I live off-campus, do I get a mail box in my residential college? Or are they strictly for on-campus residents? And can I order large items (laptop, for example) to that box (if I'm entitled to one)?

Thanks

The exact system varies a little by each residential college, but every student should get a mailbox at their college. You can have large items delivered, usually the college coordinator (who’s responsible for mail) will put a note in your mailbox and keep the box in her office for you to pick up. I would be cautious about having things delivered before you arrive for oweek though, some of the coordinators don’t like that.

When my son lived off campus, he had all important things shipped to his college address. He always let the college coordinator know that something was coming – to make sure someone was there in case a signature was needed.
If you need to have something shipped during O-week, now is a good time to make friends with your college coordinator. Better to start off on the right foot.

The nice thing about your college address is that it doesn’t change, even if you move off campus. It’ll be the same all four years. :)
