Residential College

When I applied, I applied to be in the RC, but now I do not want to do that, how do I switch out?
And also does anybody have information on honors?

Honors invitations were sent to your e-mail. If you didn't receive one, then you'll need to apply.

Yeah..I just saw that mine had been sitting in my junk folder..
anyways, does anyone know about how to get out of RC? I tried calling, but apparently they're not taking calls..

you aren't in it until you send in your deposit checking the "RC" box. just because you put it down on your app does not mean you are required to join.

i have a question though: did they send you any info on it after you got in, bc i signed up to get stuff from them, and nothing came with my admissions pkt.

It comes about 2 weeks after your admission, but if you check on Wolverine access it should say something about it on there.

hmm, ok, i was admitted on the 8th and i still haven't gotten anything. maybe i'll just call. can you tell me where to look on wa though? thanks for all your help :)

Sure..once you click on New and Prospective Student Business and log in, there will be a bunch of links, click View Application Status and then from there click View Decision, and under the bold thing that says Academic Plan, it should say Residential College. Hope that helps =)

ohh, yeah mine says that. so maybe they just haven't mailed it yet or something. i'll give em a call next week. thanks, you've been really helpful!

LaLaLa12345,

I personally don't recommend RC. Many of us here are puzzled by RC. It's important for you to venture out to different peoples during your first year at Michigan. RC tends to contain itself within East Quad as its courses are held at that dorm. Are you in Honors? Then I recommend you stay at South Quad; it's one of the better dorms out here.

Best of luck to you,

Damian

Thanks, and yeah thats what I figured, I don't really want to be tied to a single, small place.

seriously, why do you want to go to this school? MSU should be a better fit for you.
