I'm thinking of doing the Women in Science Program or Women in Leadership program in Ware, but I'm not sure if i can still pick my roommate, which i really want to do. What can I do?

you can. you just have to both request each other. however, both of you may not get into the program so you will be separated. but if you both get in or both don’t, you will be together.

the housing application is kinda confusing me
if i apply to a residential program will it dramatically help my chances of getting into the house, if i dont get in will i still be considered for that house
if i only like quad and hill is it okay to leave the application mostly blank or will i get screwed and stuck in the last choice

It hurts if you don’t write a good enough essay. You won’t be considered for that house unless you make it a choice.
And you can get screwed that way.

This. Someone answer this mans questions.

Applying to a residential program is the best way to get into the house of your choice. If you don’t get into the program, you’ll be considered for your other choices - and in that house, if one of your other choices was that house.

If you only put the quad on your app, you may get put in the quad, or you may get put somewhere totally random. If you put the quad as choices 1-9, and hill as 10, you may get put in the quad, or you’ll get put in hill (there’s basically always room in hill). If you only put singles in the quad as all of your choices, you probably won’t get any of your choices.

For you specifically, if you like the quad and hill, feel free to put any combination of those on your app. There’s a very good chance you’ll at least get in hill.

I just wanted to say that you can’t put more than 3 quad choices on your app…

Thanks - it’s been a while since I applied for on-campus housing

Wait if you apply for a Res Prog in Fisher and are rejected are you still considered for Fisher (just the house, non-prog)

You are only considered for normal Fisher if you put Fisher on your list. If you only put the residential program, you won’t be considered.

So if I can only pit 3 Quad options does teh RP count as one (aka can i apply for a RP in Fisher and then list Fisher, Ware, Riepe)

Nope. You can put your RP then 2 more options.
You can also apply for 2 RPs which would leave you only one other house.

But if you want, you can apply to let’s say a RP in Riepe, then put Riepe single and then Riepe double.

you guys, can I do this (and is this advisable and varied enough??) help please

fisher double

ware double

riepe double

hill double

hill triple

dont do fisher double first bish. thats MINE!!!1111111

Oh my god, Hill was just plain horrendous…The place is a disaster. Quad or bust…

don’t worry. we can share it. be my roomy??

question - if we apply to a residential house, does it increase our chances of getting in by a lot?? and when are the essays for the RPs due??

roomies for lyfe yay!!!

Essays are due at the same time as housing apps (you submit it with the application) What should happen (if they haven’t changed it since last year and my memory serves well) is you rank your choices for housing, including residential programs, and then there’ll be a page with the prompts for each program and a text box to copy/paste your essay.

I was at Penn Previews yesterday, and I was really disappointed that they only took us to 3 different college houses (Fisher-Hassenfeld, Stoufer-Stoufer, and Hill).

My intial impression of Hill was sort of positive - the bright, airy atrium was really nice. But then they took us back into the common areas, and they resembled prison lounges! The rooms were also really bad.

is it true that everyone who lives in Hill LOVES Hill? That’s what our tour guide kept saying.

After the Quad (which was no great shakes in the inside either, but better than Hilll), I have no idea where I would want to live. The Quad will be my first 3 choices, but after that???

Stouffer looked nice, but it only has about 100 Freshamn living there. However, our tour guide said that Stouffer is really close-knit community. Would living there as a Freshman be a mistake?

Also, I like the Quad because it feels like it’s “on campus”. You have to cross the street to get to Hill. Is KC-EH the same way? I didn’t get to see it yesterday.
