Restaurant recommendations?

We are headed to Nashville for the accepted students day. Could anyone recommend a couple of good restaurants in the area? We have never been to Nashville and we would love to check out the food. We are not red meat eaters, but we are open to anything else.
Thanks!

We just tried the new barbeque place on 12 South - Edley. It was yummy! They have several chicken options. Fido is a great sandwich place according to D.
I love Cabana for dinner. Delicious pasta dishes. Everyone will recommend that you go to Pancake Pantry, but the line will likely be way out the door. Do Not surrender and head across the street to Jackson’s. I think PP is so much better and they have the best french toast I have ever eaten. Go early!

you should post this in the parent’s cafe. People love to tell people where to go eat and whatnot over there. You’ll get good recs.

I was going to say Pancake Pantry but 2VU0609 beat me to it. I never got to try it while we were there (line was way too long) but literally everyone I talked to from Vandy raved about it. Tavern was pretty good as well.

My daughter and I are vegetarian/fish eaters and our favorites are Cabana and Sunset Grille in Hillboro Village. If you like Indian food, we recently had a fantastic meal at Bombay Palace, which is right down West End, a few blocks from the Marriott.

Thank you for all the recommendations! Looking forward to the trip.

We like Pancake Pantry and Noshville for breakfast. Fido for lunch, and Las Paletas for fancy popsicles. Taco Mamacita’s is casual and good. Cabana, Jackson’s, Sunset Grille for dinner near campus … Firefly in Green Hills. In East Nashville, I like Rosepepper. The Smiling Elephant has very good Thai food.

If you like barbeque, there is a good little place behind the McDonald’s across from the Holiday Inn Select.

Both times I’ve been to Pancake Pantry, the lines were never long. Maybe we were just lucky, but the first time we were seated immediately and the second we only had to wait for like five minutes.

We really enjoy the Pfunky Griddle, which is a short drive from campus. There are griddles on each table and you add any many ingredients to your scrabbled eggs, pancakes, oatmeal… as you like. You cook the griddle food yourself, or can order sandwiches, soup, etc, off the menu. Great fun.

It’s great for vegetarians and omnivores alike.

If you’re a breakfast person, I’d recommend Noshville a thousand times over… right in West End. Oddly enough, it’s a New-york style deli which may not be what you’re looking for in Nashville, but believe me when I tell you it’s on par if not better than the places actually in NY. Breakfasts are stellar, and the wait is usually much shorter than Pancake Pantry (although it does get pretty busy on weekends).

PM over by Belmont is pretty good.

Noshville, PP, Hard Rock are all great! If you’re into FroYo, definitely check out Sweet Cici’s as well! I went through almost 4 frequent customer cards there in a matter of 6 weeks…
