We are visiting Duke this Friday. Can anyone recommend a good restaurant for dinner that we can walk to from the campus or from our hotel (Hilton Garden Inn)? We will not have a car. Also, a good suggestion on campus for lunch before our info session and tour would also be great. Thanks!
Try Metro 8 steak house on 9th street for dinner. It’s one of our favorite places when we visit and just a block or two from your hotel.
Not sure what lunch options are available, especially with all the construction going on, but I suspect something will be available in the Bryan Center.

This is the quintessential Duke dining hotel venue, owned by the University, and at the west end of West Campus. It really is part of the overall Duke experience and probably should not be missed.

Thank you! We just returned from our visit and had a great time. We actually ate lunch at the Bryan Center and dinner at Elmo’s Diner. We were considering the steakhouse but because it was almost 100 degrees we wanted something lighter. The visit was perfect.
