Hey everyone, i'm guessing everyone is in the same mindset as I, but I was wondering when we will actually hear back decisions. On the website, contrary to the april 1st thing previously posted, it says "late march" , but supposedly last year it stated the same thing and decisions came out much earlier, in early march.Do y'all think we can hope for the same this year?

Thanks

no, the decisions last year only came out like one or two days earlier than the date they had. It'll probably be around mid march.

yeah we have quite a ways to go sharptooth hahha. Im just picturing a rejection letter so i wont be "shocked" when i see it ; ).

aw cmon Flong, if you think about it, next week is march... it's so soon....lets hope ASAP....cheers to the year of the underdog

oh no im not being pessimistic hahah : D

Once again:

If you applied for the HSSEAS, you will receive your decisions around mid March. Everyone else will receive it late March (last week of the month) to April 1st.

eh just dont expect anything till april 1st. ull get extra white hairs thinking about decision dates.

Wait, what's HSSEAS?

Last year most of my friends heard from LA during the last week of March; some might've been a couple days beforehand. Late March feels so far awayyy...

Mid-March? I'd heard early March for engineering candidates. Is there an offical date or do the decisions just sort of trickle out. My S really wants to know by March 7, when he'll be interviewing at another school. Guess he'll know when he knows...not before, but certainly not after.

Alright, heres the deal:

HSSEAS is the Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science. The School of Engineering sends out a letter around mid March, saying that "the faculty at the HSSEAS has greatly recommended you for admission into UCLA." If you get that letter, then you've just been accepted into UCLA. Remember that only those whom applied to majors within the School of Engineering (i.e., Computer Science, Materials Eng., etc.) will get that letter.

For everyone else that applied into other, non-engineering majors (such as those within the College of Letters and Science, etc.), you can expect decisions in late March.

Last year, the HSSEAS "admission letters" were released March 1st. Other students within the L&S received their admission status on March 10th or 11th.

Assuming the case would be similar, engineers would receive it about 1-2 weeks earlier, meaning mid March, while the others receive it late March (last week).

I got my acceptance letter on march 11th.

itll probably be within that range this year as well.

Shoot, I really hope its 10th/11th or so again this year, I guess we can guage ( gage?) it based on when engineering likelys release....wish us not pure stat brilliance ppl luck!! I think holistic is panning out for real...

It will be later than LAST YEAR , since admissions pushed back the release date.

right boelter. not only that, but I'm going to assume that the new holistic review will make it that much longer of a process.

hm yeah, you guys are probably right, but its ambiguous ish i guess, we can just hope its ASAP

April 1 - http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=295921

i dunno CSquare, it's been widely refuted here to be earlier than that for sure, based on past precedent too, etc.

You didn't read the other thread carefully enough. This is what I posted:

Direct quote from that article: "Because of the new process, applicants will receive their decision letters on April 1, not sooner, as they have in the past, Montero has said."

I understand Csquare, but I think , personally, it meant " not sooner than april 1st" as it has in the past , not " announced april 1st but comes out sooner" as has occured in past...

I dunno wishful thinking I guess
