so,
as you may all know, girl's tennis season is in the spring, which is WAY after all college apps are due.

for our team, we don't elect captains until the season. most likely, i will be elected captain (95% sure). if i were to write 'tennis captain 07-08', would that be unethical or bad? i mean, will there be a possibly that the colleges will check up on it to see if it's a factual fact?

If you're in such a position that you're the top person with a 95% chance, why don't you just get your team to hold elections before the season starts?

as i said,
the tennis season will be in march, after all apps are due.
and plus,
we can't have elections cuz we don't have final decisions as to who gets on the the team (4 spots open on varsity this upcoming year).

Personally, I think it would be unethical to write down "team captain" without being elected yet.

But you can always take the safe and moral approach - and write a little statement saying how much you love tennis and because of your passion, your team will most likely elect you

I think it's all right to write in "anticipated" for leadership postitions that you are assured of. I think many students have problems filling out EA applications when many senior year positions have not yet been filled. If possible, include a coach's/sponsor's supplemental recommendation that verifies your contributions and anticipated position.

"Anticipated" doesn't mean, "I would like to be captain and there is a chance I might be." It means that it is expected, barring unforeseeable circumstances. I would only use the term if you have previously been varsity team captain or can confirm verbally with the coach or team sponsor that your captaincy is assured. A team captain is often determined well before the season's competition starts.
