Is it too late to send schools new updates, such as being named captain?

I didnt put it on my app bc I play a spring sport and captains werent named until about 2 weeks ago. Should I send my schools, of which Williams is probably at the top, this new update? Or is it too late/i should just forget it? bc i can definitely see how it would make me look more well-rounded, and in my essays i wrote about how this sport was a challenge for me that i kinda overcame, but then again, i dont want to bother them.

what are your thoughts?

thanks ;)

Yes yes yes! Send it in! They don't want you to bother them with "uhhh... hi.... just wanted to say hi...." type stuff, but I think definitely you should update them on achievements--who knows, maybe it'll be the deciding molecule that moves your folder to the right pile! Make sure you send it directly to the right admissions person. In fact, I'd say email AND send it snail mail. Good luck!

how do you send it "directly to the right admissions person"?

is that just the general one that is on their website of "how to contact us/admissions"?

and what would you say?

Hi my name is _______ and i applied to _____ as a freshman for fall 2009. I just wanted to let you know that I was named captain of my varsity team, and was wondering if this new update could be added to my file.
Thanks,
Me

would that be ok?

thank you so much for replying

That sounds great--and I might add a line or two about how you're still so interested in the school, mention participating in that sport when you come (check the website for any current news about it that you could work in!). You've got a great opening to give yourself one more "sell" as they're finalizing decisions! And look in the list on the Contact Us page, and you'll find which admissions person handles your geographic area. Send it to that person (their emails are listed), and they'll make sure it'll get in your file. Good luck!
