Retake a 2230?

I'm looking into HYP. I have a 2230 superscored. Here's the breakdown: 710 math, 720 reading, 800 writing, 12 essay. That's also a 1430/1600. Should I retake? I'm taking the ACT and I'm hoping for a 34 (have a 33 now). Thanks!!

How many times have you taken it previously?

What are your safeties?

I was going to write no, but considering that its superscored and your section scores are the least ideal (most don’t care about writing too much), you may want to rewrite.

But HYP does care about writing, more so than, say, VA Tech or CUNYs.

UCs also care about writing; not to do so would be inconsistent since the UCs requested to have this writing section in the first place.

For HYP, a further higher SAT score would be helpful. However, it seems your SAT score is inline with your ACT score so you may not have too much room for improvement. On the other hand, some schools (like Harvard) does not like seeing 3rd attempt of standardized tests. You may want to be better prepared and try your best on your next ACT.

It depends on if you think you can do better. I do think a higher math/reading score for each section would be ideal, and would mean more than just a high writing score.

However, there’s no point retaking if you can’t really do better. I’d say study hard for your next ACT, and then stop testing. Your scores are still good.
