Retake a 2240?

...because there aren't enough retake threads already.

2250 using my CR from the old SAT.

I'm looking at Dartmouth ED, Middlebury, Georgetown.

Yes. I just retook my old 2230 and couldn't...well could but am not retaking...be happier.

I'm in a similar situation. My CR and Math scores are good but my writing score is abysmal(680)

I think I will retake it. I have a 740/750/750.

Any more opinions?

I probably won't retake since 2230ish is the score I aim for...

but is math your strength? If you think you can improve by 50 points, take it, but really, if your scores are all in the range of the 700's, its meaningless to retake. it may even show up negatively to the college to retake after obtaining such score.

dont retake it, thats extremely good. man threads like this make people like me feel bad. i would kill for a 2240. i hate you guys.

sheetmusic:

Honestly, sat's arent everything. If youre one of those applicants who have nothing going for them except for their sat scores, youre gonna be rejected, period

You definitely shouldn't retake. With 2250, all three sections average out to be 750. The colleges will give you an academic ranking, anything above 750 will be ranked the highest. So it doesn't make any difference if your average is 750 or 800.

NO, honestly, that's a fantastic score. It evens out to around a 1500 in the old SATs.

sheetmusic, I strongly advise you NOT to retake your SAT Is. Schools will look at you as being more about test scores than anything else. Test scores are important to a certain extent, as you may have already known. A 2240 will NOT deny you admission at any college such as Dartmouth or Harvard, but if you are denied, you can take comfort in the fact it was not your test score.
