Hello,

I'd like some advice here please. Here was my first ACT score from April:

Composite: 33
English: 33
Math: 31
Reading: 31
Science: 35
Writing: 9
English/Writing Composite: 31

Should I take the test again to try and raise my score? Or should I not bother between the difference in maybe 1-2 points? What will the difference be for academic money? I don't know if I could raise my score anymore. If I did, it would probably have to be my Math and Reading.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

This largely depends on where you intend on applying. A 33 is an amzing score and would be above the 75th percentile at schools like UMich, RPI, etc. But for schools like Brown, Stanford and Yale and Princeton, ya might wanna retake it and hope for a higher score.

Hockeydude664,

Currently I am looking at:

University of Minnesota
University of Madison Wisconsin
University of Iowa
Michigan
Northwestern University
Ohio State
University of Southern California
Texas Austin
Texas A&M
Yale

Thanks

A 33 is good for pretty much all of those schools except for Northwestern and Yale where it’d probably be average.

It can’t hurt to take the test again, but you probably won’t go up too much
