i took the act in april, and i got a 34. all of my scores were extremely high except math: english 35, reading 35, science 35, math 29. i can't figure out whether i want to retake it or not. i really want to boost my math score, but i'm afraid i might go down in another subject, which i have a tendency to do. my first choice college is university of chicago. my essay wasn't as good as i had hoped either (act+writing): i only got a 10. my friends are all telling me i shouldn't retake it--I got the highest grade in my class (we're small, only 91 of us), but i'm not sure. should i stick with my 34, or should i try to bring up my math and risk bringing something else down?

Sure, retake. You get to chose which sitting you send, I'm fairly certain.

It won't hurt you so retake it if you really want to. Unlike the SAT, you can choose which one test to send.
