i have taken three subject tests
chinese 800
math 2 710
chemistry 610
should i retake chemistry or take us history?
i took both AP last school year.
i did better on the apush exam.
thank you for helping :)

How much more do you think you would improve on chem if you took it again? Personally, I would take U.S. History if you did well in it. The curve is much more generous than Chemistry (which I found to be difficult with much more questions than minutes alloted) and it would provide a balance in your application. I used AMSCO and 5 steps to a 5, the same books as APUSH, so if you have review books, you don’t even have to get new ones

i used crash course for the exam and i got a four.
i dont think i can improve much for chemistry since i only got a 3 for the ap exam.
what do you mean by balance my application?
thank you

Unless applying to a specific school like engineering, some colleges like to see that you have talents in a variety of fields. For instance, for LORs it is generally recommended if possible to get a recommendation from a math/science teacher and then a english/humanities teacher. That way, it shows that you can excel in both categories. I used the same philosophy when deciding which subject tests to take

okay. thank you so much.
should i still send my chemistry score ?

what type of schools are you thinking of applying to? most of them don’t require more than 2 subject tests anyway, so if you do decide to retake a subject test, I’d wait and see the results of the new ones. the chemistry one is kind of low at the moment, but it may offer you credit at some schools. also are you a native chinese speaker or of the heritage? some schools won’t weight that score as heavily if that is the case

i grew up in taiwan,so i am a native chinese speaker.
i am hoping to get into boston college.
i have 5 ap classes senior year. i dont think ill have time to study for sat subject test.
what should i do?

Take the USH test.

@skieurope
okay. did you take it?
what book should i use?
thanks
:)

Use the Barron’s and Princeton Review books for SAT subject test. If you have done APush then it should not be too much of a problem provided you study. The Amsco APush book is the best by far out of all three though (I have them all)
