<p>I'm a rising senior and I just took both the SAT and ACT for the first time this past June. Since I am an okay student who doesn't really stand out that much from her competitors, I was wondering whether or not I should retake the SAT or ACT.</p>
<p>SAT: 2300
Verbal: 800
Math: 760
Writing: 740</p>
<p>ACT: 35</p>
<p>I know I'm pretty close to the full score on both tests so that's both why I'm tempted to retake the tests and why I feel like I shouldn't retake them. It would be amazing if I could have either a 2400 or a 36 but I don't want to waste my time and money if I'll do worse a second time around.
Is it worth it retaking either of the tests?</p>
<p>ofc it’s not worth retaking an already high score!!! but if i had to pick one, i would go with ACT since it’s easier to improve on that, at least IMO. you can get 35.5 and still round it up to a 36! and act is mainly testing what you learnt, so you can always learn new things to do better on the ACT, whereas SAT is pure logic and you have to be lucky to get a perfect score</p>
<p>Your scores are better than good enough for any school! It’s too much of a risk to retake them. I’m not that familiar with the ACT, but you only have a 100 difference between your score and 2400, which is like 1-4 questions (especially for the October SAT, which has a really high curve)! It’s just not worth it, and I’ve heard that 2400s and 2300s don’t make much of a difference.
Instead of prepping for these tests, work on your essays.</p>
