Hello. Before I ask my question I would like to list all of my scores:

SAT I: 2370 single sitting (770 in math). This was my second time taking.
SAT II: Biology M--800; US History--770.

I think I want to take another SAT test, but I am not sure if I want to take a subject test or an SAT I. If I take a subject test it would be in Math 2. If I take the SAT I again I would try to score 800 in math for a superscore of 2400. Do you think I should take a subject test or the SAT I? Or should I just not take anymore SAT tests in general? I am a senior, and I am applying to Princeton, Duke, UPenn, Hopkins, Dartmouth, and some other schools.

You don’t have to bother with going the SAT I again for the 2400, it’s just 30 points and once your score is over 2350 colleges don’t care that much anymore. Your energy could be better used studying for subject tests, especially in subjects related to what you might want to major in.

Going for Math II is far more worth it - if you can score 800 in that, then colleges can pretty much just overlook your 770 on the SAT I.

Retaking a 2370 is insane. It might actually hurt you if colleges see both scores, because then they know that you’re so focused on test scores that you are willing to retake a near-perfect.

I suggest taking SAT II Math II as it may be useful, or even necessary at some colleges. Your SAT I is EXCELLENT; do NOT retake it. Fellow Princeton SCEA-er here
