Retake SAT?

This is going to annoy a lot of people, but I swear I’m not “fishing for compliments.”

I have two SAT scores: a 1540 Old SAT (750V 790M) and a 2320 New SAT (720CR 800M 800W). I have a couple of questions:

Will colleges combine my 750 on the Old SAT with my math and writing scores to give me a 2350?

If not, should I retake for a higher CR score? Does it even matter/is it worth it? (I know, typical CCer question, but I’ve heard it looks bad to have a large disparity between the math and verbal scores. However, I think I might have a shot at a 770+ here, and I need all the help I can get).

Will it hurt me if I get a high verbal score, but my other two sections suffer?

I’m looking to apply to a bunch of BS/MD programs, for the record. I’m really hoping to be done with standardized tests, so any comments are appreciated.

I honestly would not bother taking it again. Chances are your CR would come up a bit but your Writing and Math would drop a bit. And this would mean nothing to colleges anyway. 800M and 720R is not a large disparity, especially when you have an 800W.

Yeah, I don't hold it against you, but this is a typical CCer question. Colleges know that the difference between 2250 and 2350 could be what you had for breakfast before the test.

I agree. There's no need to retake. Unless you can guarantee a 780+ on CR, you're fine.

Yeah, unless you think you'll ace it or something next time, just relax and write some killer essays.

I think retaking will damage you unless you get 2400.
