Hello fellow CCers,

I just took the ACT for the first time (June). I got a 35, and my 33 Science prevented me from getting a 36. Now I know normally people would never retake a 35, but I have some extenuating circumstances which make me feel I can go for perfect. For one, this was my first ACT, and I only studied for less than a week, because I had the June SAT the week before. I only took 2 practice tests.

My main point is, is it worth spending the time and effort trying to get a 36? Or will colleges not care if I have a 35 or a 36? I keep telling myself that a 35 will probably not keep me out of any college, but obviously a perfect score looks much better than anything else. However, as a rising senior, I feel I could spend the time I spend studying for the ACT on college apps, etc.

I also have the same situation with the SAT: 2280 superscored, and I have one more chance in October. Which is better, 35 or 2280? And should I retake the SAT?

What should I do? Thanks everyone!
