I transferred schools at the end of my freshman year but I took intro to computer science at my previous school however, my new school requires we take intro CS before we take APCS and even though I took it they may not let me take APCS unless I take their intro to CS course. Should I retake it?

The only difference is the addition of AP, basically. I don’t think you should take it unless if you are absolutely not interested in any other courses your high school now offers. Taking the AP could expose you to new information, maybe.

I recommend taking another course and self studying for the AP Exam, that is if Computer Science is your intended major/career or having to do with it.

My options are AP Biology, AP Psychology, AP Statistics, Philosophy, Anatomy Physiology/Gentetics.

I see no reason why they would not accept last school’s cs class as a prereq. If you took Spanish I at your old school you could still do Spanish II at your new school.

The problem is they didn’t offer this class previously (intro CS) due to that they won’t have an AP CS class next term as no one is “prepared”

OK, you did not make that clear.

You can’t take a class that’s not offered. Take it the following year if they offer it. Or self-study on your own.

I’ll speak with a counselor but they’re insisting I take it or I may not be eligible to take APCS

AP comp sci. shouldn’t require an intro class so try avoiding the intro class. Good luck!
