Hi I recently took physics 211 and got a c+ for the course. I am not satisfied with his grade and was wondering whether of not a retake of it would be advantageous towards job prospects as an engineer. Thanks.

Having seen the overall grade results for physics 211 at times in the past, I am guessing you are likely in the upper 40% of those who took the course. You can retake a course and then choose to replace the old grade with the new one. Impact is: (a) if you grade higher, you can replace the old grade and only the new course and grade will be used to calculate your campus and overall GPA with the possible effect of aiding in applying for employment in that you can report a higher GPA; however, (b) if you get a lower grade and thus choose not to replace the old grade, both grades are used to determine your overall GPA, and (c) the replacement affects only your reported GPA; the old grade and course stays on your transcript and thus is sent to any graduate school or employer that may request a transcript.

Yes I read about the retake policy but apparently it only applies to people with a c- or less so a retake would mean both grades being used for my gpa. I know I can ace it the second time but I’m not sure how this would look to grad schools and future employers. Thanks.
