Retaking Courses I Got B's In

I got straight A's my Freshman year.
I slacked off sophomore year and got 5 B's (1 first semester & 4 second semester). Easy honors classes...
At the end of my Junior year, and I took 6 AP/IB courses per semester and 2 courses that not AP/IB (one is a supplementary science course for IB and the other is my elective). And I got 3 B's and 5 A's last semester. This semester, I dropped one of my AP classes, so I'll end up with probably 1 B and 6 A's.
I have the opportunity to retake all my sophomore classes that I got B's in over the summer... but I'm wondering if that's worthwhile thing to do. Should I retake them online and get them up to all A's????? Or does that look bad? They will show up as "RP" and only the new grades will show.

no. it looks really desperate when you retake classes you got B’s in

B’s aren’t a big deal. Retaking would make it obvious and people will take it less seriously.

most schools won’t let you retake a class unless you got a C or below. so really, it’d be a waste of time and your school probably won’t even let you. just try harder in your classes next year and bring your grades up

If they show up as repeated without showing the B, you would probably be even worse off because it looks kind of suspicious. The schools you apply to won’t know you got a B (and if they did, they would likely think you are too mark-obsessed), and would probably assume the worst. Don’t retake them, just work on getting less of them next year.

You should. B’s are terrible business.

Doubled edged sword. You help your class rank and acc GPA but now your transcript littered with “RP” grades looks sketchy as hell. Does the college you’re applying to care? Very school specific question.
