Retaking SAT = good idea? (:

I took my SAT this past October and got a 2200 (750 CR, 650 M, 790 W, 10 essay). I know that it's a decent score, but MY MATH SCORE!! @#()$&@(#&$

I also think that I'll be able to ace the W (and maybe even CR if I'm lucky). I just want my math score in the 700's.

I applied SCEA to Yale and there are so many CCer's with perfect/near perfect math scores... I'm not that enthusiastic about retaking the SAT in December, but I will if it means it'll boost my chances for getting into Yale/other colleges. I'm also applying to UVA, William & Mary, Amherst, Carleton, Kenyon, Bryn Mawr, and Wellesley.

I'm an Korean American from Fairfax, Virginia... if that's any help. (:

ADVICE, PLEEEEEEEEEASE!

Impressive score, but retake if you know you can get a higher score. It's better to retake and improve your score (or not) and to know that you gave it all you got.

That you're Korean from Fairfax may make your score just a bit above average, so once again, retake if you aren't sure you did your best.

If you applied SCEA to Yale, your test scores from December won't count. Just letting you know. Other than that, like the above poster said, if you're sure you can do better, go ahead and retake.

Math score looks bad. Retake.
