I've been going crazy since yesterday over my March SAT I score..which was the second time taking it. I got a 2110 which is 10 points lower than my first time 2120 which i took last october. So I've seriously been considering about trying a third time to get a 2400 or to at least break 2300. The thing is, i hear from all around that its either ok or not a good idea to take the SAT I three times. So i'm just asking, for those of you who took the SAT I three times and got a good score, which colleges were you accepted to (i'm hoping that ivies and other good schools won't mind me taking the SAT 3 times. Does it really look that bad?) or if you know of anyone else who took it 3 times and went to a really good college.

As long as you improve it does not look bad. Although, any more than 3x looks bad.

Would 3x be perceived as over the top / paranoid if you already have a high score though?

i think that anything over 3 is too much. 3 is fine.

You'll have a hard time finding anybody who will deplore taking the SAT 3 times. But if you did score 10 points lower than your first attempt, then you need to do some serious studying. Low SAT scores are not anomalous or arbitrary. "Stupid mistakes" are more damaging and harder to fix than "regular mistakes" and "unfair questions" are questions that you're not prepared to deal with.

What's wrong with paranoia? People are out to get you, you HAVE to be paranoid.
