Retaking the SAT? (old score)

My first (and only) attempt was during sophomore year, and although I got a 1550 (24 essay), which is a fairly decent score, it’s been a few years and I’ve scored in the 1580+ range on practice tests. Seeing how it’s been a long time since I last took it (Dec 2016) and I believe I can do better, should I invest my time (would need to familiarize myself with the testing structure again) and money into retaking the test, or would the difference between a 1550 and 1580 be marginally significant/insignificant in college applications? I’m Asian and aiming for Ivies/top LACs, if that matters.

1550 is more than fairly decent. It’s a fantastic score and you should be proud of yourself. No need to retake, especially with the 24 essay. I personally scored a little lower and am not retaking.

There’s no difference between 1550 and 1580. Don’t waste the time/money to re-take. Well done, and well earned, @SeattleDreamer .

Alright, thank you both! @mic347 @marvin100
