Hi everyone,
I’m an international student and I want to apply to Ivies. I took sat 4 times and cancelled the first one. Last time, I scored 2270 (700 cr, 770 m, 800 w). I don’t know if I should retake it, I want to score better on Maths or CR but I also fear that my score might drop. What do you think guys?
It wouldn’t hurt to at least take the SAT again and see if your score improves. If you do take it again, I would try to focus on improving your CR reading score by ~ 30 points. This would bump your score up to 2300 which would make you competitive. In my opinion, it would be easier to improve your CR score than your M score since your M score is as high as it is now.
@akinta Math is just an issue of not making a silly mistake. If you are sure you can increase your reading score, then you could consider retaking. However you are probably at that point where schools look at the rest of your application (grades, activities/awards, recommendations, essays) more.
You’re right, and do you think if my composite score drops and no section increases, would it influence the admissions decision in a negative way ( If they want me to send all the scores but they still consider the highest points) or would they just disregard it? @MITer94
