Reusing an essay for a personal statement

My essay for University of Washington was on this topic:

"Discuss how your family’s experience or cultural history enriched you or presented you with opportunities or challenges in pursuing your educational goals."

I talked about my Indian background, parents, and what moving to America taught me. For the Rensselaer Polytechnic application, we are required to write a personal statement - "be as creative as you like".

I was wondering if I could reuse the first essay for the RPI one? By reuse, I mean submit the exact same essay, with no revision whatsoever.

Should I do that? Should I change it a little bit? Help please :) And thank you!

I’d only suggest that if you don’t have anything more interesting. Family is the go-to topic for a lot of kids, and coming to America isn’t that uncommon, either.

If it’s an exceptional essay, though, it might stand out. The “be creative as you like” sounds as if they were pretty bored reading essays last year, ha.
