Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis):

  1. Waste Management Chapter - I started a local waste management chapter in our school. We used Oklin food composter machines to re-purpose food into fertilizer. This ended up becoming much bigger than just in our school as 8 countries around the Middle East started participating in this with us. We are still working on expanding this to South Asia so hmu if your school would like to become a part of this. 25 schools from the Middle East had become a part of this. Spent a lot of time on this, initially started this in 8th grade.
  2. MUN - Will be President of MUN next year but currently I am the VP. Attended around 9 different conferences and organized 1. The conference I organized was regional and around 8 schools attended from 3 countries.
  3. App - Currently working on an app that tracks your impact on the environment and how you can become better at managing waste. Working on this with the help of Oklin. Have developed other apps in the past but none of them really took off, most downloads I've gotten on 1 app was around 400 but I'm positive this one will get a lot more.
  4. Law Club - I am the president and founder of this club. Nearly 60 member and 50 of which are very active. In this club we hold biweekly meeting, one meeting in which we have a mock trial and in the other we discuss legal affairs. We often also get lawyers to come and speak about their experiences.

Job/Work Experience:

  1. Might work as an intern at a law firm that one of my dad's friends owns. Not sure if this will happen.

Volunteer/Community service:

  1. Volunteered at a Syrian refugee camp in Turkey as a part of a community service trip our school holds yearly.
  2. Volunteered at an animal rescue center.

I think you’ve got a reasonably good chance at studying in America. It’s hard to guess if you would be accepted at top 20-30 schools (you didn’t say which schools you want to attend), but your stats are good and $40K a year to spend could probably be workable if you focus on liberal arts schools like Bates, Carleton or Bard (they are more likely to give you aid), OR state universities that offer in-state tuition rates to high-stat students such as University of Alabama or Montana State University.

Where do you intend to go to law school? In the US, that is a postgraduate program, focused on practicing law in the US, very expensive and very few scholarships are available.

Will you be paying for your education yourself, or will you have scholarship money from your government?

At each college or university website, chack for the estimated Cost of Attendance (COA) for international students. When you compare the COA at different places, make sure that they include the same factors. You want estimates for tuition, fees, housing, meals, books, supplies, and health insurance. You might need to come up with your own best estimates for travel to and from your country each year and for local travel and winter and spring vacation expenses. If students from your high school often study in the US, some of those people might have ideas for you about the extra costs not listed in the COA.

You can use the search function at ABET.org to find the full list of accredited environmental engineering or civiland environmental engineering programs. All of the places that offer that major will also have a good to excellent computer science program. Some are at places that are likely to be affordable for you if you truly can pay up to 40k each year.
