It is kind of hard to determine your chances with no specific ECs listed. You may think they are awesome, but at Cornell, everyone has awesome ECs.

Your SATs are low, but not out of range at all. If you really want Cornell (which the ED indicates) your essay has to be more than okay and your ECs have to be awesome compared to other Cornell applicants not just awesome in general. I say that it is a reach right now. What to do to help? Bump up CR score a bit. Math is great as is. Try for a little higher on SAT II. Work your butt off on your essay. Keep going with your ECs.

I don't know much about the UC system so I can't help much. Are you in-state? If so I think you have a good shot at most of them, because they are very numbers driven for in-state.

Good luck.

Why are you only 16? Finish high school. Colleges will be much more receptive to you as an applicant AND your SAT scores would be higher a year from now.

Cornell is not in range, don't waste the ED. UcLA and USC are reaches. USCs stats keep going up, yours are just average there now.

If you're only 16 take a year to do something to strengthen your profile, raise your scores and do better college wiae than you'll do now.

cornell is def. a reach for you, you really need to bump up your critical reading and writing scores

Cornell ED: REJECT
USC: REJECT
UCLA: REJECT

can't say for sure because you haven't listed exactly WHAT your "awesome" EC's are

Im going to be a senior....are you suggesting I take a year off of school? I understand raising my stats...which I will by taking the SAT I and II's over (which is the only thing i can do to improve my chances). I dont understand why my age makes a difference!!! What do you guys think about my list....its not tooo top heavy right?

bump..............

I'm 16 and going to be a senior as well...I think it's presumptive of you to assume that we're "too young"...some kids have late birthdays and just graduate earlier.

i dont see why some people are saying that he should wait and strengthen his profile. isnt he already an incoming senior? i'm also an incoming senior and i'm sixteen until december. lol

exactly...i was confused for a little!!! So what do you think if i get a 2180 on my October SAT?

Bottomline: You're 16 and trying to apply to big schools without the profile of a genius. Just forget it...

Um yeah no.

"Bottomline": It shouldn't matter how old you are, it should matter what grade you're in.

Man some people on CC are idiot!!! Just because my bday is in december and dont have the profile of a genius....i shouldnt apply to top schools.

Yeah, that's not how it works. One of my friends graduated in class of '07 when she was 16 just because her birthday is so late in the year. My birthday is in September, so I won't even turn 18 until I am JUST starting college. It really just depends.

he has a late birthday derr

okk so chanes?

Can you please list your awards and EC's for us to tell you your chances accurately? Thanks!!

I took Cornell off ED because most people said I have little or no chance. Im thinking about boston college EA?
