Revoked admission?

Can a top university like Duke or Cornell revoke acceptance because of a B or a high C in one or two classes?

omg..no

sorry, I'm a little nervous. it would REALLY suck to get it revoked....

wow a C?!?!? i would write a letter IMMEDIATELY explaining why and when you got that C. If you don't have a good reason, make up something like your dog suddenly passed away... Name him McGwire for kicks.

Godspeed...

ouch. ok i get the point. lol.

I got a C in French (but A in everything else) and Cornell didn't even warn me. I'm on track to get either a C or a low B in French this quarter, along with my first ever B in math, but I'd hope that Cornell won't care that much. But yeah, I guess all I wanted to say was that I was/almost still am equally as worried about being revoked : P

I got a C in PE (no joke). A's and B's in other subjects. I was fine.

thanks guys, I appreciate the lack in sarcasm ;) i just can't make myself get interested in english literature for some reason...
but you know, it really would suck to get revoked, so thanks for the reassurance.

If you're planning on going to a top school, you should probably learn to engage classes even if they're not really your "forte." It kind of sounds to me like what you're really asking is whether its okay to slack off a bit in classes you dislike -- and the answer ot that is NO!
Anyway... getting of the soapbox... I doubt you they're going to revoke your admission for a single B, but you should do your best to "get interested" in every course you take, since even the stuff you learn in English Lit (which may be apparently unrelated to your major) can actually be quite helpful later on! ...There's a reason we have so many liberal arts colleges out there!

apumic.....jeez, the kid isn't interested in one class second semester senior year. I would dare to say it is OK to slack off a bit in classes you dislike second semester senior year as long as you keep the grade at a reasonable level.

many of my friends failed some classes their senior year and they're all college students now.

ur school just doesn't want you to have Ds and Fs...they are well aware that senior year people stop caring for a short time.
