I’m an admitted ED2 student and I paid my deposit in February. I was wondering if Lehigh would rescind over one C or D in AP Calc BC. My grades have been in the 80s in the first semester, but this quarter has been much harder. I’m worried that Lehigh will see this and assume that I’m slacking, when in reality we’ve only taken two tests this quarter which is why my grade has been so low. Lehigh is my dream school, and I’m terrified that they’ll revoke my acceptance because of this. Does anyone know what Lehigh’s history is when it comes to rescinding acceptances?
@eneary0406, -Do you think you could talk to the teacher and explain your concerns? Maybe ask for extra credit opportunities to avoid the possible “blemish” on your transcript? I am a teacher, albeit elementary school, but the majority of teachers have their students best interests at heart and want to see them be successful. No teacher wants to hinder a student’s chances from achieving the dreams they’ve worked so hard for. The course is AP Calc! I’m positive you would not be the first student to have this conversation with your teacher. But, if your teacher doesn’t know about your predicament, -there is nothing s/he can do to help you! This doesn’t make you weak, it makes you a concerned student who at times struggles-like everyone else!!! If I were in your teacher’s shoes, and you approached me, -I would do everything I could to help the student who was being proactive. Trust me, this teacher, wants to be the teacher who you come back to in 4 years saying thank you for working with me at the time I truly needed it!!
Taking this approach, allows you the power of control to do something now, instead of spending excess time worrying about something you ultimately have no control over.
You have been accepted to Lehigh, and you accepted, so you are in!!! Now, do everything in your power to make sure that nothing could change that, because to be honest, none of us truly knows the answer to your original question, as we are not the Lehigh Admissions Staff
This will also be a skill that you will carry to Lehigh, too. I am a Lehigh graduate, and the courses were not always easy, but the professors when I was there, were AMAZINGLY supportive. They want to see you succeed. If you start practicing this skill now, you will be that much more prepared to ask for help when you need it during your tenure at Lehigh!
Best of luck!!!
- You should call your Lehigh admissions representative and ask, but I doubt they would rescind. Some students don’t have any calculus. They are pretty committed to the students that they admit.
- You should get a tutor to help you smoke the rest of the exams so that it becomes moot. BC Calc is a hard class.
my son is dealing with the same thing. Same class BC Caculus. Never had a C now he has one this term.
Will they even see this quarters grades? I think they only see final transcripts. And you could get the grade up by then maybe?
One C? Not gonna happen. A D? There’s a chance
The only relevant grades will be the final transcript sent by your school… so whether quarter, semester, or year end grades are reported is what will matter.
