Hello All,
I am currently a high school senior in second semester and I am taking AP Calculus, AP Language and AP Gov in school and AP Computer science online. The material in all my classes has started to get significantly harder especially in AP Computer Science and my grades are slowly starting to slip. Do you think I would get rescinded if I drop AP Computer Science?? I just emailed my admissions counselor asking for feedback but I decided to ask again here because I am really anxious for a reply! The stress of 4 AP’s is getting to me and I need to do well in my other classes. I initially applied for the CSB program but I was admitted to the school of engineering overall so I plan on majoring in industrial engineering. Thanks for reading and please reply!

I don’t think they would. They generally only rescind if you’re failing a class or have a D or something like that. Mostly Cs would also be very questionable. They don’t want to rescind but they can’t take kids that fail second semester senior year. So you should be fine but can you give us an idea of what your grades look like now including comp sci? It might not be worth it to drop it.
@blueguy99 Right now I have an A in AP Lang, a B in AP Calc AB, a B in AP Gov and a C in computer Science. I should be able to bring AP Gov up to an A and maybe Calc but computer science is just taking so much of my time.
@blueguy99 Oh yeah and I am taking Bible and Theater Arts and I currently have a C in Bible which will be raised to a B and an A in Theater Arts.
@karthicks07 I would guess they would rather see a C with your other A’s and B’s than you drop the class. My understanding is they are not happy with change in course selection after acceptance.
I agree with @alli3fire . One C is definitely better than dropping. If you had a D or an F it might be a different story. An F certainly. Dunno about a D
Update: I called up the admission counselor for my region and she said there is no problem with me dropping the course. She said everything is pretty much all set so not much if anything would cause an alteration in my acceptance.

Side question: what provider are you taking AP computer science through? Because if it’s edhesive, I feel your pain…
