To RHIT Admissiions…
TIA for replys in a public form for all to see.
Here’s the question.
Hypothetically, let’s say the son of Albert Einstein and Marie Currie applies with perfect GPA and 2400 SATs. What would be the maximum merit scholarship possible (ignore financial need based financial aid)?

ima ESL student only be US for about 3 years, therefore my school doesnt require me to take any foreign language. so
- i dont have any foreign language classes on my transcript
2)cuz this reason my SAT score is CR 490 MATH740
so i didnt meet the min requirement for the school i think
am i chance to get into RHIT

@RHITAdmissions-I had the same query as FooMonChew, how much is the maximum merit based scholarship that an international can get?
Also what is the eligibility for the FastTrack Calculus Program?

Thanks in advance! :)

re: scholarship amounts – those are adjusted every year. I don’t know what the max will be this year. Eligibility for FTC is at least one year of Calculus and a 700 SAT M or 31 ACT M.

Ok, so could you please tell me the max amount for last year then?

also because the budget cut in education, i cant fill my schedule with multi-variable calculus in my senior schedule, so if i take it in community college is that gonna count?

@lanceluo0927 – We don’t require Foreign Language classes to be eligible for admission so that is not a problem. If you do not meet the CR minimum for admission consideration on the SAT (500), then, you will have to submit more scores. If you are not a US citizen or permanent resident, you will have to submit a TOEFL or IELTS score. If you take multi-variable calculus at a local community college, that will be fine and you should be able to transfer in that credit.

@nkhlgeorge – 3/4 tuition

My son is very interested in applying to RHIT. He has strong ACT E and ACT M, as well as strong extra-currics. and GPA. Unfortunately, he will not be able to visit the campus. Will not visiting the campus hamper his chances of being accepted into RHIT as a computer science major?
Thank you in advance for your reply!

the common data set for RHIT says they don’t consider level of applicant’s interest in admissions decisions, so a campus visit or not shouldn’t matter from that perspective. But a visit is pretty important before you decide where to go to school. I visited RHIT and I have applied for fall 2011. one thing about RHIT that you need to visit to understand is its location. Even schools i’ve been to in really small towns (Grinnell for example) are within walking distance of a few places to do something, buy something or eat or drink something. RHIT isn’t. Although the campus is nice and there are a good amount of activities frats and clubs, from what I saw, there is nothing at all within a reasonable walking or biking distance of campus.

@RHIT admission-could you also tell me how many international students actually got 3/4 tuition scholarship?
Also i wanted to know, if i submit my application by mid September would Rose Hulman consider by October SAT scores for admission/merit aid etc?

Thank You
