Rhodes, Marshall and all those british scholarships

I'll be a freshman at Northwestern in the fall. At first I wanted to study in England and got accepted to a few schools there but decided it wasn't the right choice now because there isnt a lot of funding over there for american undergraduate students. However, I would like to study there for my graduate degree. I was wondering if anyone has received a rhodes, gates cambridge or marshall scholarship out there---the three scholarships I would want to go for. I know those scholarships are highly highly selective, but if anyone does know...how did you use your undergraduate career to increase your chances of getting the scholarship i.e. academics, field work, internships and what was the process like before you or someone you know won.

I am hoping someone else knows this also -- my son is also interested.

Wow...winners must be that rare...

Northwestern has an office to help students apply prestigious scholarships. You should check with them once you are on campus.

Why don't you ask a Rhodes scholar? :)

Oh yeah hehe!! :) thanx you guys. Yeah I looked on NU's website and thats how I got more inspired...some of the people seemed intimidating with their resumes though :)

Eugh...you have to be an athlete to qualify for the Rhodes?!
