<p>@Aerobug: Heck yeah I had a good time! Omg, it’s gonna be AWESOME, I guarantee it! I used to be indifferent toward my school, but because of Kairos, I LOVE it and everyone in my school. It’s just…incredible</p>

<p>It would seem somewhat logical that Rice would try to recruit from outside of Texas. Rice is a phenomenal school, but unfortunately, it is similar to a lot of top non Ivies in that many laypeople have never heard of it (not a reason to attend or not attend), or else they have a negative view of Texas, which is too bad because the school is a real gem (I am not a Rice alum, but my son is applying). The school is in a great area of Houston and offers a great quality of life.</p>
<p>The “hidden gem” is such a perfect description for Rice, and I am really glad I applied!!</p>
<p>Rice has been my dream school since June. Ill be so crushed if I don’t get in. I hope you guys are my classmates!</p>
<p>It really is a hidden gem. Being a Houstonian, I can attest to its GREAT location! The surrounding area just feels like you’re at the center of the hub of everything science. And the parks are amazing! The whole place has a strong upscale feel to it. I’m glad such a great college is literally 45 minutes from my house. And the fact that it’s lesser known beyond Texas (or probably the mid/south part of the US) is gravy. Lol less northern competition XD (then again, Houston has its own immense crowd of smart, uber-competitive, ivy-caliber students who would no doubt be applying to Rice also)</p>
<p>I never lived in Houston, but I lived in Austin for 10 years and I’m itching to get back in that Texas humidity. 
In kindergarten we always sang that one song, “The eyes of Texas are upon you…you cannot get away!” It used to freak me out and I used to have this visual of these giant eyes following me on an airplane from Texas to California. Haha.</p>

<p>if i recall correctly, the result is given in your email.</p>
<p>ED decisions came out via e-mail, so I assume it will be the same for RD</p>
<p>fyi the subject will read “Your Rice Admission Decision” so it’s hard to miss.</p>
<p>Oh dear…I would prefer to see my decision as I log in to ESTHER. More time to prepare myself</p>
