rice club sports!

I saw on the rice page that rice's men's club lacrosse, men' soccer, men's and women's rugby, and cycling teams compete against schools with huge numbers of undergrads like texas tech, lsu, u of h, oklahoma, tcu, tulane, and a and m.

Why does Rice compete against schools with undergraduate populations that are 10-12 times that of Rice (Rice has only 3,000)? Since thereis a greater talent pool to draw from, wouldn't Rice's club lacrosse, men' soccer, men's and women's rugby, and cycling teams get totally decimated a lot of the time?

just wondering, thanks. It seems like it would make more sense for Rice's club teams to compete against smaller schools in texas so they would actually win a lot. Also, how popular are the club sports teams, and are they a lot of fun?

I don't really know the details of what I'm talking about honestly, but I'm just wondering, thanks.

DS really enjoys his club sport, Ultimate Frisbee.

It ain't all about the winning - it's about the playing. Club sports are very popular, as are the residential colleges teams which play against each other.

How is the cycling club? Is anyone a member of the team? I am in the process of becoming a competitive cyclist and would really like to go to a school with a already-established cycling club.

Yeah the cycling club's legit, they do inter-college competitions. Plus, you'll love Beer Bike :)
