Your LORs seem really good too, with a lot of Rice connections.
Also, according to their website, the Managerial Studies major at Rice has to be paired with another major. Did you put down anything for your second major?

Does anyone know if it’s possible for transfers to be waitlisted?
Yes. Here is a thread from last year discussing the transfer waitlist. http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/rice-university/2080965-rice-fall-2018-transfer-waitlist.html The main transfer thread from last year also has posts from some students who were waitlisted. http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/rice-university/2060001-official-rice-university-fall-2018-transfer-thread-p4.html There is a link to waitlist FAQs on the Rice transfer page. https://admission.rice.edu/apply/transfer Last year transfer decisions came out on April 26.
@Houston1021 Thank you so much, sir/madame! You’re a staple in these Rice threads. What is your history with Rice, if you don’t mind sharing?
Does anyone know how competitive the Managerial Studies program is?
@CriedEmerson I am the parent of a current Rice student.
@123ghost Rice in general is extremely competitive. So maybe there’s no such thing as an easy major to get into, but there are majors which are notoriously hard to get into, like music and architecture.
With that said, I don’t know anything about the Managerial Studies program. Sorry!
ManaStud is an interdisciplinary major that combines elements of economics, statistics, psychology, and political science. The credit hour requirements are modest though you can only take it as a second major.
Hello,
I am going to share some stats.
I am currently enrolled in Community College
GPA: 4.0
Prospective Major: Neuroscience
I am a queer African American non-traditional student (took a two year hiatus between high school and college).
After high school, I got a job as a paid research analyst intern for the Environmental Protection Agency (I was very excited to accomplish this at age 18). I shared in the prompt, asking about how I spend my last two summers, my experience with presenting to congress.
I play clarinet often, everyday, and I play in local nursing homes. Classical music is an inspirational language.
In addition, I did a lot of service with the mayor of my village, which inspired me to dream towards occupations involving humility (I am pre-med and will become a neurosurgeon).
At my CC, I am the founder and president of my school’s first Pre-Health club: The Future of Health and Medicine.
A member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society
I am co-Editor in Chief of our newspaper.
I volunteer in the Transfer center and have immensely close relationships with all of my professors.
I volunteer at a Trauma 1 hospital in the emergency department.
I wrote a book review for my history course, and it has been published in a notable undergraduate journal.
I submitted 3 LOR. They came from 2 professors, and my mayor.
I worked very hard on my essays. I would love to share them with you all, and read some myself.
I am not sure if i am missing anything.
Also, I submitted a picture of my clarinets for “The Box.”
Does anyone know how important it is for transfers to have 2 SAT IIs? I know they recommended sending 2, but I only had 1 and didn’t have time to prep for another
Anybody anxious for decisions?
I don’t even know when they come out
@transferrrrrrcc That must be a good sign
do they have an actual release date? i sort of gave up on my privates because I know it won’t be for another month or two even
could be this week, last year it came out on thursday, april 26
The year before that, it came on May 4 (the friday after the 26th)… so most likely, this friday or the next
waves or all at once?
damn why can’t they just tell us when theyre releasing lol
I know right! And I think waves… but I’m t0tally unsure…
