<p>My son is a freshman at Rice this year and from Northern CA and was never offered an interview.</p>
<p>There are probably interviewers in your area, as many Rice grads live near SF. Just apply for an alumni interview online.</p>

<p>My daughter is a senior at Rice this year. Before she applied she had an alumni interview (Northern CA). As I remember, there was a list of people in the area she could contact for one.</p>
