Yeah, these schools are really different. Many of the schools I applied to though were pretty different, I guess because I wasn't (and still am not) sure about what I want. Anyway I have narrowed down a few options (most begrudgingly Bowdoin... Their financial aid package was good but can't see myself there) and I have these two.

For what it's worth...
-Planning on Comp Sci and Applied Math (Advantage Rice)
-Don't like the cold (Advantage Rice)
-Don't plan on drinking (Advantage Vassar)
-I live in New England, so travel expanses (Advantage Vassar)
-Residential College System (Rice)
-Off campus life (Rice)
-I reeeeeally don't like the cold (Rice)
-I'm not sure if the artsy hipster thing is me (Rice)
-More racially and geographically diverse (Rice)
-I'm gay and I think Vassar would give me a lot more options there.... I feel this is a really important factor but obviously can't be the only one...

I know some of this is stereotypes but I really don't know how to judge.... Both colleges will give me such different experiences. I wish somebody could tell me which factors are silly and which are important because I feel soooo lost

Frankly, you like most everything about Rice better, and reading your list it seems like you really are including Vassar only for the potentially better dating opportunities. If that’s the most important thing to you, fine, but I don’t think it should be.

In any case, congratulations on getting accepted to three awesome schools - good luck with your decision!

I mean it appears gay people exist at Rice just in smaller numbers I guess… And yeah not the most important thing but I think it’s human nature that it’s important. Thanks and thank you for the honest feedback.
