Rice Portal Email Came After Financial Document & SAT Deadlines

Hi all,
I am an international student so the information below is in accordance with my timezone:

Rice’s International Financial Statement & Document and Official SAT Score Report was due on January 1st.

I successfully submitted the common application and writing supplement on the January 1st deadline and hence received an invitation-email to my application-portal on January 2nd.

I immediately submitted my International Financial Statement & Document and Official SAT Scores after receiving the application-portal email.
However, since this is after the stated deadline (on here: https://admission.rice.edu/sites/g/files/bxs676/f/Checklist-FreshmanApplication.pdf) will my application still be considered by Rice admissions?

Moreover, should I send an email just in case to let them know of this scenario or is this scenario acceptable?

Thanks in advance everyone!

As long as you submitted your portion of the application by the deadline, you should be fine. If you are worried, send them an email.

@Houston1021

Would “my portion of the application” only include the Common Application and Writing Supplement or would it also include the Financial Statement & Document?

Technically speaking my Financial Statement & Document should have been submitted on Jan 1st, but it would have been impossible for me to do so since I only received my portal on Jan 2nd.
So although I didn’t meet the deadline I have no idea if due to my circumstances it was permissible to send this a day late. What are your thoughts?

If you would still advise that I send an email please let me know. Thank you for your time.

If you submitted your common application on time, you should be fine. Rice realizes documents will trickle in after the deadline. There is no harm in emailing them. However, if they don’t respond right away, realize they are getting lots of emails right now. They returned to the office after the holidays on Jan. 2.

Rice publishes a separate ISFS deadline of 1/1 so applicants can plan for precisely this issue. I would not send an email unless it is a mea culpa, though @Houston1021 is surely right that they will consider the app anyway. Good luck!

Hi. What happened? Did they accept your application? I’m applying this year, and I’m passing through the same situation.
