I find this disappointing. Do we really need to intensify our nerdy image?

Embrace it! I’m really excited, Rice is officially perfect.

Embrace it? It’s almost as bad as LARPing.

I’ll admit, LARPing’s a bit weird, but I could get into that after a few drinks lol.
HP on the other hand, at least where I’m from there would be a pretty wide variety of kids involved, not just the nerdy ones.

Ah my S will be so excited! He was just mentioning the other day how he’d love to go to a school with Quidditch and how it could become an “official” sport (but without the brooms).

Quidditch is becoming a popular sport at a lot of colleges, though, so I doubt it will change our image too much. I’m not too much of a Harry Potter person myself (although I appreciate their popularity and quality), but to me this just shows another reason why Rice has something for everyone. And that if it doesn’t have what you want, it’s pretty easy to make it happen.

Wait, Quidditch is a nerdy thing? I thought Harry Potter fans were actually normal people, like Twilight fans. I don’t think you can classify HP fans as nerds.

I wasn’t really being serious here, but I think we can definitely classify kids running around with brooms between their legs as nerds.

Point.

I could see Quidditch being fun WITH flying brooms. Otherwise, it is like a mutated version of Lacrosse where you cannot use the stick.

Agreed. These kids are the same people that will end up working for kids who went to Average State School because they have little social skills.
